Razors Edge Concaves named to TIME's Best Inventions of 2025

TIME named Razors Edge Concaves to its Best Inventions of 2025 and gave the system a page of its own. The write-up goes at the idea rather than the spec sheet: bar spacing that varies with crop flow, so an operation running oats, canola, soybeans and corn is not stopping to swap concaves between them — which is exactly where large farms lose days. As Jeremy Matuszewski, who founded Thunderstruck Ag, put it to the magazine, the spacing “is variable based on crop flow, which balances the combine.” The magazine also reports our field-test results: harvesting speed up 25%, grain loss reduced, and fuel consumption down 40%.

Thunderstruck Ag on Fast Company's Most Innovative Companies 2026

Thunderstruck Ag, the company behind Razors Edge Concaves, was named to Fast Company's World's Most Innovative Companies list for 2026. The recognition is for the company rather than a single product, and it followed the same year the concave system reached TIME's list.

Two honours at Ag in Motion 2025, decided two different ways

Razors Edge Concaves won twice at Ag in Motion 2025: the equipment category award, chosen by the show's selection committee, and the Farmers' Choice Award. The two are decided on entirely different grounds — every category winner goes forward to Farmers' Choice, which is settled by farmers voting through the show's website in the week after the event. A jury and the farmers reached the same conclusion independently.

Manitoba combine concaves make TIME's top inventions list

The Co-operator covered the listing from home ground: Thunderstruck Ag builds in Winkler, Manitoba, and the piece reports that TIME approached the company over the summer and invited it to nominate the concave system for consideration. Worth knowing how that list is arrived at — an invitation, then a selection.
